Meet Michelle Maguire - Law Clerk
Discover the journey that led me to law, my commitment to supporting barristers across New Zealand, and the unique passion that drives my services. I'm here to make a real difference in your practice and a positive contribution to New Zealand's justice system.

From travel to trials: My journey to law
When the world of travel paused due to Covid-19, my path took a new turn. I embraced the opportunity to pursue my long-held dream of becoming a lawyer. Since 2021, I've been diligently working towards my LLB at the University of Waikato, Tauranga campus, and I'm currently completing my final two papers. My enrollment for Profs with IPLS is set for 15 June 2026.

Experience that makes a difference
My background includes invaluable experience as an Executive Assistant for a CEO at a commercial firm, and ongoing law clerk work for a local Criminal Defence Barrister. This casual role has deeply expanded my knowledge and skills in criminal defence law. I am dedicated to offering barristers throughout New Zealand a sustainable "win-win" solution: engage my services for a sharp rate when needed, and easily pause when your workload is quieter.

Beyond the ordinary: What sets me apart
I am not your average "straight out of Uni" law clerk. My life experiences, including being married with children, living around the world, and working in diverse industries, bring a unique perspective to my work. I possess an insatiable thirst for knowledge, uphold high standards, and am always open to feedback. My commitment to dedication, professionalism, transparency, flexibility, and reliability ensures exceptional support for your practice.
